A nostalgic throwback to the VHS era, REWIND: A VHS Revival celebrates takes you back to when movie nights began at the video store. Featuring AOM's collection of large-scale, hand-painted art originally created by Art & Sign Productions and displayed at video stores from the 80s through the early 2000's — the exhibit brings back the iconic visuals of cult classics and blockbuster hits that defined a generation of pop culture. John Alvin:
Creating The Promise of
John Alvin was a visionary whose artwork defined the magic of going to the movies. His illustrations became the posters we stood in line beneath –– the images that stirred our imagination long before the lights dimmed. This exhibit spotlights the creative process and stories behind iconic classics including E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Young Frankenstein, Aladdin, Blade Runner, The Lion King, Batman, Willow and Star Wars VHS Trilogy. Blending fine art with cinematic storytelling, Alvin’s remains one of the most influential figures in movie poster design and Hollywood’s visual culture.
